Lucas Crossing School Complex is centrally located in Normandy, adjacent to the new Normandy Early Learning Center, and neighbor to the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The school was built in 2004 and sits on the site of the historic Lucas-Hunt home, which was also the former Normandy School District administration building.
The mission at Lucas Crossing is to create an environment where parents want to send their children, students want to learn, teachers want to teach, and employees want to work. Lucas Crossing aims to foster a sense of community in which every individual is respected and encouraged to realize their full potential in the areas of academic achievement, character, work ethic and citizenship.
For two consecutive years, LCSC has produced the district’s Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award recipient: 2017 recipient Shirley Jones and 2016 recipient Audrey Woods.
LCSC was named to the Alliance for a Healthier Generation annual list of America's Healthiest Schools by achieving the 2018 National Healthy Schools Bronze Award. Also located at LCSC the site Joshua Gibson Field, site of home games for Normandy High School’s baseball team.
LCSC serves students in grades 1-8 and has the highest student enrollment in the Collaborative. With its central location in the Collaborative, LCSC is often used to host events like board meetings, community engagement forums, community groups, and districtwide events like the 1st Grade Reading Wonderland.
